There is a very fast and efficient way to build very tall buildings, accumulating one block of flats after another with the help of a heavy but somewhat uncontrolled crane. The only thing that requires is to have good eye and aim so that all the blocks are aligned vertically or, at least, that the tower then does not collapse.
